Wallpaper Advice
Please check your rolls before hanging, as no claims can be accepted after the wallpaper has been hung.
Use our simple calculation to give you an estimate of how much paper you will need here.
(It is always good to order a little bit extra, incase things go wrong).
Preparation:
Walls should be clean, dry and even- you can do this by removing any old wallpaper, and loose paint. Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper (80 grit is recommended). For best results we recommend using good-quality lining paper, this will help with any lumps and bumps in the walls.
As this is a paste-the-wall product, decorators should paste the wall, not the paper. We advise using a good quality, solvent-free, fungicide protected ready-mixed adhesive. Evenly paste the wall, and apply. Wallpaper can be adjusted when applied on the wall.
Consider the repeat of the wallpaper; our papers are usually half-drop repeated. With half-drop repeat patterns, there will be two different drops, hung alternately. This means there is the option of cutting the drops in sequence (1, 2, 3 etc.) or alternately (1, 3, 5 etc. followed by 2, 4, 6 etc.).
Hanging- butt joints and use a decorator’s brush to smooth down the wallpaper, working from the centre to the edge, to remove air bubbles. Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints and ensure the paste does not get on the brush or roller. If this does happen, lightly sponge whilst still moist with a lightly damp sponge.
For bathrooms and wet areas we can recommend using a decorator’s varnish such as Polyvine, on top of our paper to give it more durability. Use the ‘dead flat’ finish to keep the quality of the original paper as close as possible. However, we do recommend doing a test, as we cannot guarantee it does not affect the wallpaper colour. If there is a lot of humidity, we do recommend sourcing Vinyl paper as this is designed for bathrooms.

Sustainability
At Studio Le Cocq, it is extremely important that we do everything to keep things as sustainable as possible and care for the environment. Alongside donating a portion of my profits to Conservation projects, we also make a real effort in sourcing products from quality local suppliers.
Art Prints:
My paper has been sourced from suppliers who care about the paper quality they are selling and use FSC-certified sustainable sources; I use natural and uncoated paper which minimises chemical use. My larger prints specifically are 100% cotton, which is not only high quality but also Acid & OBA-free. All of these have been ArtSure approved.
The inks we use are solvent-free, with low odour, and can be cleaned using water.
Packaging
We aim to source recycled and environmentally friendly material, using compostable cello bags to protect your prints and kraft tape to package your orders.
